Planche is a free OpenSearch GUI for when you want the Dev Tools console without running OpenSearch Dashboards: write requests, read search hits as a table, browse indices and mappings, and edit documents. Works with OpenSearch 1 and 2, with or without the security plugin.
Open the OpenSearch client
_bulk, and SQL through POST /_plugins/_sql_cluster/health as JSON_source as a tree, edited as JSON and saved with if_seq_no and if_primary_term, so a document changed in the meantime is reported instead of overwrittenRun npx planche in a terminal (Node 22+). It starts a small local agent on your machine that sends your requests to the cluster's REST API and opens this page already paired to it. The browser talks only to 127.0.0.1; your credentials go to no other server. Clusters on a private network can be reached through an SSH tunnel.
No Node.js? One line installs the agent — curl -fsSL https://planche.dev/install.sh | sh on macOS and Linux, irm https://planche.dev/install.ps1 | iex on Windows. Everything stays inside your home directory, nothing asks for an administrator, and a machine without Node.js gets a private copy of it. Afterwards planche is a command that starts instantly; planche upgrade keeps it current.
Elasticsearch is supported the same way; see the Elasticsearch client.
Also available: SQLite viewer, MySQL client, MariaDB client, PostgreSQL client, SQL Server client, Oracle client, Neon client, Supabase client, Cloudflare D1 client, Cloudflare Durable Objects client, Redis client and Elasticsearch client.
Planche has a free tier that needs no account and uploads none of your data — connection profiles live only in your browser. A few advanced features need Pro; see pricing.
